In November 2026, Shenzhen becomes the host city of the 33rd APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting (18–19 Nov 2026), alongside the APEC CEO Summit and related business events.
If you're flying in for the summit — or using APEC week as a reason to visit suppliers, set up a China entity, or explore the Greater Bay Area supply chain — this guide covers the things that actually matter when you land.
18–19 Nov 2026 — APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting (Shenzhen)
17–18 Nov 2026 — APEC CEO Summit (≈1,000 participants: executives, officials, ABAC members)
Surrounding weeks — Trade, supply chain, digital economy, SME and GBA side events across the city
Late Nov — High-tech fairs and industrial matchmaking pick up right after the summit
Note: CEO Summit pre-registration via CCPIT closed on 17 Sep 2026. If you didn't apply, you can still do business in Shenzhen during APEC week — the city will be busy, but open.
Main APEC activities: central Shenzhen (security-controlled zones around convention areas)
Core business districts: Futian (government/consulates), Nanshan (tech: Tencent, BYD ecosystem), Bao'an (airport + international expo centre), Luohu (cross-border trade with HK)
During summit week, expect traffic controls, VIP routes, and tighter security near venues. Build buffer time into every meeting.
APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) holders: use the APEC lane, fast-track clearance
M-visa (business) or L-visa (tourism): apply via Chinese embassy/consulate in advance
Shenzhen is rolling out: dedicated immigration lanes, bilingual signage, foreign-card payments, and faster customs (under 15 min for many arrivals)
For company registration meetings: bring your passport + shareholder documents; we'll handle the local translation/apostille side
Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport (SZX)
Metro Line 11 → Futian/Nanshan (30–50 min)
Taxi/Didi: 40–70 min depending on district and APEC traffic
Airport has APEC delegate lanes, multilingual staff, and foreign-card friendly payment
From Hong Kong: Lok Ma Chau / Huanggang Port (24h), Shenzhen Bay Port — both upgraded for APEC week
Need Area Good for
Summit / policy meetings Futian, Luohu Close to CBD, consulates, metro
Tech / sourcing / factories Nanshan, Bao'an Hardware, LED, 3D printing, drones
Expo / logistics Bao'an (near expo centre) Quick access to convention zone
Budget + flexible Longhua, Bao'an 15–30 mins to downtown
Alipay / WeChat Pay now accept major foreign cards (bind Visa/Mastercard)
Carry some cash + a bank card as backup
SIM: buy eSIM before flight, or get a tourist SIM at airport kiosk
Transport: Metro is bilingual, cheap, reliable. Use Didi for door-to-door.
Weather: Nov in Shenzhen is ~20–27°C, humid-warm days, cooler evenings — pack light layers
Factories and government offices may run on adjusted schedules around 18–19 Nov. If you need:
Supplier visits / factory audits
Sample collection / QC
WFOE or representative office setup
Import-export licence, bank account, apostille docs
Logistics, freight, DDP shipping
…schedule the heavy lifting for 10–14 Nov or after 20 Nov.
"Sample looks right, mass production drifts" → we lock spec + pre-shipment QC
"Chip model discontinued" → we find drop-in replacements and confirm compatibility
"I need a China entity but no office" → WFOE + virtual address + no fapiao structure
"I can't fly back for bank signing" → we coordinate notary / POA / local rep
"APEC week everything is full" → we help with grounded logistics and meeting slots
We're a Shenzhen-based cross-border team. During APEC week we're around for:
Foreign-founder WFOE setup
Sourcing, sampling, supplier verification
On-site factory visits with you or on your behalf
Freight coordination (air/sea/DDP)
If you're in town and want a low-key coffee — let's talk.
